Welcome to Feisty Felines, a local rescue, dedicated to transforming the lives of cats in Pierce & Thurston County, WA. We are a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that specializes in feral cat TNR (trap, neuter, return). We are passionate about our mission to provide a safe haven for cats, promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs, and advocate for their well-being. At Feisty Felines, we believe that every cat deserves a loving home and a chance at a better life. Our organization was founded by a group of compassionate individuals who recognized the urgent need for intervention in the lives of stray and feral cats. We are proud to be the driving force behind positive change for these vulnerable feline populations.

Feisty Felines was officially founded in 2020, but Misti & Brittany had been working together as independent trappers for some time before they recognized the community’s need for a local TNR program. This eventually grew into a foster and adoption program, as well as a low cost spay/neuter transport program. What sets us apart is our specialized focus on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. TNR is a humane approach to managing and controlling the stray and feral cat population. Through TNR, we safely trap these cats, have them spayed or neutered, provide necessary medical care, and return them to their original habitat. This process not only helps prevent the cycle of reproduction but also improves the overall well-being of the cats and the community they inhabit.

Our dedicated team of volunteers, staff, and partner veterinarians work tirelessly to carry out our TNR initiatives. We are committed to providing comprehensive care, ensuring that each cat receives the necessary vaccinations and any other medical attention required to maintain their health and happiness. Feisty Felines is also deeply committed to finding forever homes for cats who are able to be socialized and rehomed. We have a comprehensive adoption program that matches cats with loving families, ensuring a successful and harmonious transition. By promoting responsible pet ownership and education, we aim to reduce the number of cats that end up on the streets or in shelters.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of our community and cat lovers like you to continue our lifesaving work. Donations and volunteer efforts are essential to our success and enable us to expand our reach and impact. Your support not only helps individual cats but also contributes to creating a more compassionate society where feline welfare is a priority. Join us in making a difference in the lives of cats in Pierce & Thurston County. Whether you’re looking to adopt, volunteer, donate, or simply spread awareness, your involvement can help shape a brighter future for these beautiful creatures. Together, we can make these communities a safer and happier place for cats through our TNR initiatives, adoptions, and educational efforts. Contact Feisty Felines today to learn more about how you can contribute or get involved!

Misti, is the compassionate heart and driving force behind the nonprofit organization, Feisty Felines. As the founder, she is a living testimony to the belief that every cat life matters, regardless of their feral nature. Misti’s journey into the world of animal welfare started when a friend asked her to help out his mother whose home was foreclosing and she had “some cats”. What she found later was a 60-80 feral cat site and the lack of resources needed to help the animals, inspiring her to take action.

What started as a single TNR project in 2017, quickly grew into more. Despite working a full time job, Misti made time to join forces with others who shared a common goal and in 2020, she decided to leverage her passion and expertise to establish Feisty Felines. The non-profit is dedicated to improving the lives of feral cats through TNR programs, public education, and advocacy. Over the years, their diligent efforts have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed hundreds of cats while simultaneously controlling the local feral population.

Today, Misti continues to lead Feisty Felines with unwavering dedication. As a pillar of hope for the feral cats of Pierce & Thurston County, her work tirelessly focuses on the importance of TNR programs and securing a better future for these often overlooked members of the animal kingdom. Through her actions, Misti continues to show that every cat, feral or not, deserves a life free from suffering and neglect.

Meet Brittany Evers, the compassionate co-founder and dedicated Vice President of Feisty Felines. Brittany’s journey with us began from a simple Facebook post from Misti looking for assistance. Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, she joined forces with like-minded individuals to establish our rescue organization, driven by a shared vision of a better future for feral cats.

Long before she dedicated herself to our cause, Brittany was a pillar in her community. Brittany’s heart has always been deeply rooted in service and to helping those in need around her, from volunteering at local food banks to the police department. So, animal rescue was a natural progression for her in life. Later an, she found herself involved in a small dog rescue for a few years but found herself looking for a bigger challenge.

While her role as Vice President demands much of her time, Brittany has welcomed a baby boy into the world and has had to step back while she learns to navigate motherhood. Brittany’s heartwarming story and passion for rescue work continue to inspire both our team and the larger community. Her selfless dedication has made Feisty Felines Cat Rescue a beacon of hope for cats in need, and for this, we are incredibly grateful.

Meet Abby Albright, a lifelong animal lover and dedicated advocate for feline welfare. While she has always found ways to be involved with animals, her journey with us first began in 2021 when she signed on to foster a feral mom and newborn kittens. With open arms and an open heart, she provided a temporary home, where she nurtured, cared for, and witnessed firsthand the resilience of these beautiful creatures.

Fueled by her love for cats and the desire to make a difference, she stepped up from being a foster to serving as a board member in 2022. Her firsthand experiences dealing with the trials and triumphs of fostering have shaped her perspective and approach in this crucial role, making her an invaluable asset.

Abby continues to juggle fostering, alongside board responsibilities and a full time job. Her belief in the transformative power of love and care in a cat’s life serves as an inspiration to us all. Her story is a testament to the profound impact one person can make when they open their heart to those in need. Join Abby and the rest of our team as we work together to make a difference in the lives of countless cats.
